We are seeking a quality focused, detail oriented Harvest Winemaker to join the Western Winemaking team on a four month contract to support the 2017 season (August 1th December 1st 2017). The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day winemaking at the Kelowna facility during the 2017 Harvest season. The ideal candidate will be a results oriented team player with a desire to promote improved wine quality.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Assisting in executing all winemaking activities relating to the harvest season including but not limited to planning and logistics, grape processing, fermentation management, lab analysis, barrel management, and grape quality assessment.
  • Assisting in the management of the Cellar staff.
  • Following safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions/hazards to their reporting Manager.

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

  • Sc. degree in Oenology and Viticulture or related studies
  • Experience in cellar operations an asset
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, HACCP, and ISO an asset.
  • Proven ability to successfully work in a fast paced, high stress environment.
  • Able to meet deadlines while managing conflicting priorities and maintaining a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve program as they arise in a calm and scientific approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
