With new and superior equipment, a dedication to both quality and value, a masterful balance of old-world techniques and visionary winemaking, we continue to supply the world market and produce the finest award-winning VQA wine from this Okanagan Valley winery. 

We require Seasonal Crush temps(4) & General Labourers(2)  to work in Calona Winery, Kelowna BC for the term mid-July to end of November 2017.

Responsibilies include, but not limited to:

  • Work on various production lines in a wine manufacturing plant and/or work in  the grape processing area (mostly outside) for cellars during vintage
  • Assist with and operating equipment safely and efficiently with close attention to product quality
  • Ensure fillers are running to appropriate line standard; cleaning & sanitizing equipment
  • Assist with equipment performance and product quality (inspecting products closely for defects and production presentation) as well maintain accurate quality records and line checks as assigned.
  • Forklift work loading and unloading trucks with grape bins (empty and full), washing and re-stacking bins
  • Processing grapes (includes dumping grapes into hoppers, cleaning bins, re-stacking bins, preparing and making additions to the grapes, presses, tanks, juice, etc)
  • Shoveling out grape skins from tanks; confined space entry work
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager


  • Grade 12 or equivalent; previous experience working in a manufacturing or fast paced physical environment
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, have good mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Actively support, understand and promote a culture focused on Health and Safety as well adhere to HACCP requirements and the GMP policy
  • Must be willing to work all shifts and work under minimal supervision
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.  Work will involve some heavy lifting and working in cold, damp conditions 
  • The successful applicant should be able to work effectively with Supervisors and co-workers to maximize performance, quality, and safety initiatives using a team-oriented approach.

This is a unionized position and belongs to the Brewery, Winery and Distillery Workers Local 300.   The hourly rate is $14.36 during  the first 60 days while on  probation and then increased to $15.92 per hour.
