We are currently seeking an energetic Restaurant Bartender/Porter. This individual will receive guest beverage orders from service team members and prepares beverages in a timely and efficient manner.  In addition to maintaining the service bar (cleanliness & stock), this role  is also called upon by the assigned Manager on Duty to support the service team in  set up /tear down activities for property experiences/events/functions and in providing bartending support at temporary indoor/outdoor designated areas.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Receiving beverage orders from service team members and makes beverages in a timely and efficient manner adhering to Property's Standards of Service; including presenting prepared beverages in a clear and organized manner at designated service team pick up area
  • Communicating beverage descriptions and related information to service team members and (if requested) to guests
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the designated bar area at all times
  • Understanding and adhering to inventory control procedures (including checking/maintaining wine/ liquor levels, receiving, ordering, stocking of bar beverages/supplies); participates in monthly inventory process
  • Following safe work procedures/practices (including Smart Serve Best Practices); reports any unsafe working conditions/hazards to assigned Manager on Duty

*As per provincial (Smart Serve) stipulations, employees under the age of 18 may not be involved in the handling or serving of alcohol.  This includes setting up wine bottles for guest experiences, clearing used stemware, stocking fridges/displays, etc.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Bartender/Mixologist
  • Post-secondary bartending and mixology education an asset
  • Demonstrated guest/customer service excellence focus; including being personable, service minded and efficient
  • Ability to lift 40lbs on a regular basis
  • First Aid certification an asset
