We are currently seeking a passionate, customer driven Senior Sales Associate at Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery & Distillery. The successful candidate will focus on creating memorable guest experiences and is responsible for performing all selling (including Wine Club memberships). This role is responsible for retailing functions within the wine and distillery retail boutique during guest experiences, and when providing Guest Relations functions/services.  The successful incumbent will be frequently called upon to act as Manager on Duty in their absence; providing appropriate coaching to retail team members.

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Achieving and exceeding assigned Wine Club membership targets
  • Maximizing revenues per guest transaction (including up-selling)   
  • All Estate Wine Group properties and Andrew Peller Limited Wine Shop locations
  • Facilitating guided tour and tasting experiences for property guests
  • Assisting with processing guest sales (via POS system) and  with Guest Relations bookings/reservations (via internal reservations systems) when required
  • Supporting retail management team with driving daily sales targets for wine/spirit and Wine Club sales
  • Collaborating with retail management team in creating, training and monitoring strategies linking tour/experience/Guest Relations/new release programming with merchandising of products.
  • Assisting retail management team with team member onboarding (including seasonal tour and guest experience program training)
  • Understanding and adheres to cash control procedures and retail inventory control procedures (receiving, ordering, promotions, stocking, experience write-offs); assists with monthly retail inventory process

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills: 

  • Demonstrated Guest/Customer service excellence focus
  • Post-secondary wine/spirits education
  • Experience working with computer based point of sale systems and handling cash
  • Ability to deliver education/training programs; experience doing so in a hospitality/tourism environment an asset
  • Ability to recognize when guests and team members would benefit from support and assistance; contributing to others' initiatives without having to be asked
  • Smart Serve certification
  • First Aid certification an asset
