Andrew Peller Import Agency  (API) is a Canadian Importer, Warehouser and Marketing Agent servicing English Canada. We specialize in premium wines and spirits from around the world. Andrew Peller Import Agency is a division of Andrew Peller Limited; a leading producer and marketer of quality wines in Canada. As part of Andrew Peller Limited, we offer our customers the personality and style of an entrepreneurial agency with the resources of a large company.

We are seeking a strategic business partner to join the API team to manage the import portfolio in Ontario as well as be as a direct link to a portfolio of suppliers nationally, delivering unified sales and marketing plans. 

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

Ontario Sales Management including:

  • Serving as the primary contact in Ontario for Andrew Peller Import Agency leading supplier meetings (with the LCBO and key on premise customers), developing go-to market strategies, securing listings, generating marketing plans and ensuring sales rates,
  • Lead the creation and implementation of the forecast and A&P plans for Ontario and management of the Ontario P&L, and
  • Developing turnkey programs including goals and objectives for the Ontario sales team to execute.

National Portfolio Management including:

  • Working with the provincial teams on the development, implementation, and alignment of strategic business plans for a national portfolio of import suppliers including sales, forecast targets, and budgets according to the organizations strategies,
  • Acting, for their portfolio, as a link between Andrew Peller and the external export managers to align goals and objectives,
  • Collaborating with Trade Marketing to maximize ROI and manage spending and recoverable budgets within their portfolio and with Logistics and Sales Managers on product management to optimize their portfolio,
  • Monitor, communicate and recommend solutions regarding competitive activities and developments, and
  • Working with Eastern Business Analyst and Trade Marketing Manager to ensure reports, sales tools and programming is provided to the teams in a timely and effective manner.
  • Following safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions / hazards to their reporting Manager.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

  • University or College Degree.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior leadership role with wine knowledge and trade marketing experience.
  • Proven Leadership, Teamwork and exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; Tableau knowledge an asset.
  • Thrives in a fast paced, multi-disciplined environment. Exceptional ability to time manage and prioritize; strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to independently problem solve, think analytically and strategically.
  • Available for flexible work hours to attend industry related events or functions with some evening and weekend work as required.
