The Industrial Electrician will work in coordination with the Maintenance team.  They will be responsible to install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical equipment and associated maintenance work in a safe, efficient and courteous manner. This position will provide a significant amount of support for the Estate Wine Group Events. The future incumbent will be required to work outdoors and work with minimal to no supervision. Also, hours of work vary and some overtime and weekend work will be required.

  • Day shift Dec-Aug.  Afternoon shift  Sept to Nov
  • Part of an on call rotation

 The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Dismantles, tests, analyses and repairs malfunctioning equipment using drawings, manufacturers' manuals and reports any non-compliance's to Maintenance Manager.
  • Reports on equipment complete with recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Completes work schedules in cooperation with Maintenance Manager/Maintenance Lead Hand and other required departments.
  • Estate Wine Group event support.
  • Performs all repairs following the prevention maintenance schedule thoroughly and accurately to sustain optimal performance of equipment and to minimize downtime and costs while in compliance with HACCP rules, SOP's and other requirements.
  • Performs and completes duties as they relate to electrical, PLC programming, pneumatics, vacuum, fabricating mechanical repairs and other areas as needed.
  • Troubleshoots equipment failures with a sense of urgency to minimize down time.
  • Operates machinery/equipment in compliance with HACCP, and SOP's.
  • Ensures that all required documentation is completed correctly and on time including timesheets, logs, equipment monitoring and operational forms, work orders and inventory counts.
  • Follows good housekeeping procedures and maintains a tidy, clean and safe work area on the floor and in the maintenance shop.
  • Promotes compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety and Environmental standards at all times.
  • Uses hand and power tools to test equipment and determine the location and cause of the issue.
  • Designs or improves replacement parts while complying with government regulations.
  • Requisitions replacement parts.
  • Checks, adjusts equipment to ensure proper operation/ performs routine preventative maintenance as required.
  • Required to perform heavy physical work in a safe manner, installs new equipment.
  • Records repair work performed and the condition of equipment.
  • Will complete general building maintenance rounds and some general maintenance repairs throughout all NOTL properties

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

  • Must possess a valid Electrician's license.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Demonstrated experience repairing and troubleshooting PLC's is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to deal with difficult situations
  • Ability to be innovative and think strategically'big picture thinker
  • Proven ability to effectively trouble shoot and problem solve
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task as well work under tight timelines with competing priorities
