We are seeking a passionate and analytical individual who will create added value to the organization through the management of data analytics to provide market, channel, customer and brand insights to support business strategies and decisions. This role will be responsible for streamlining corporate processes, data sources and tools, ensuring accuracy, to make APL more efficient and effective. This role is responsible for the development/improvement of Sales and Marketing Team analytics tools and will lead development of the sales force automation tool.The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact comfortably at all levels within the organization.   

 The successful candidate will be accountable for:

Providing research and insights for the alcohol beverage market

  • Using the internal Tableau market dataset on alcohol beverage, this role is responsible for day-to-day administration of research initiatives, including implementation and oversight of studies (quantitative and qualitative), and responding to ad-hoc research requests.
  • The role will focus on providing insights and consultative support to our sales and marketing teams to help drive business results for our clients.
  • Evaluates internal and external market data to provide succinct accurate analysis to identify larger trends, developments, strategic market initiatives and opportunities in beverage alcohol.
  • Works proactively with the VP's to provide analytics to support the development of strategies and objectives by channel, segment and brands with the brand managers in the marketplace

Managing the customer relationship for strategic analysis

  • Responsible for representing Andrew Peller strategic analysis/research nationally in presentations to key customers on business strategy and performance
  • Provide communication plan to influence Liquor Board policy on critical issues: pricing, mark-up structure, shelf set, and programming
  • Monitoring and advising APL on changes to the alcohol models in each province, for example new liquor board pricing models & implications

Supporting the Development and Usage Of API Visualization Tools for Data Analysis and Insights

  • Support the development of Andrew Peller's market, channel, brands and corporate dashboards using Tableau
  • Part of a cross functional development team for the internal customer relationship management (CRM) tool: Andrew Peller Smart Sell system
  • Identifies opportunities to continually enhance business intelligence and output on an ongoing basis
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) on internal datasets and reporting to ensure accuracy and performance

Coaching and Development

  • Establishes and communicates clear goals and priorities; provides ongoing coaching in support of their goal attainment and performs formal performance evaluation annually.

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Economics, Business or Sciences Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or related area. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years' experience in strategic Insights department required
  • Advanced skills using spreadsheet and presentation tools.
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to lead cross-functional mandates and deliver actionable insights.
  • Strong relationship management skills; ability to collaborate and rally key business partners (clients, agencies, internal partners) around new projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Performs well in an environment with competing priorities and multiple projects.
