The nearby mountains attract hikers, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts of all descriptions. Three major ski hills are within a one-hour drive.

 Our Winery, located in Kelowna BC is recruiting for a career focused Quality Control Technician.  Duties include but are not limited to performing all aspects of Quality Control, chemical and microbiological analysis of wine, specifically:

  • Perform laboratory analysis on juice and wine as well start up, shut down, calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
    • Manage lab inventory, product holds and recalls.
  • Prepare accurate reports and records, communicate summarized data in a timely manner.
  • Support when required the cellars and packaging regarding fermentations, sampling, additions and sanitation

Qualifications:         

  • Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree in food science or related field combined with experience in routine laboratory analysis in microbiology, chemistry, food analysis, or quality control, preferably in the beverage industry
  • Experience in f/t SO2, pH, TA, Brix and hydrometric and ability to learn other analysis
  • Training in chemistry, food analysis, quality control, and computer use
  • Ability to work independently and actively support and promote a culture focused on Health and Safety
  • Understand of and the ability to adhere to HACCP requirements and GMP

Successful candidates should have the ability to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift 45 lbs. This position requires a high level of energy, and candidates should be aware of the physical demands of working in a fast-paced winery during harvest and be able to work weekends and evenings.
