Andrew Peller Limited is seeking a results-oriented and passionate Marketing professional! This role is responsible for enabling added strategic value and growth through the development, integration, and execution of optimized Customer & Brand Marketing initiatives across the Core Wine portfolio(Liquor Boards, On-Premise, and Grocery) in Western Canada, as well providing critical leadership and expertise to APL, as the liaison between Sales and Marketing, and cross functional partners (Business Insights, Finance, and Demand planning) ensuring corporate objectives and strategic plans are devised, delivered and maximized. 

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Responsible for driving and delivering revenue, profit, margins and share targets for Andrew Peller's Core Wine and Cider business in Western Canada.
  • Develop optimized and insight driven Customer Marketing programs enabling vertical integration and alignment to brand, trade, and shopper strategies for Core Wines and Cider.
  • Lead and design annual strategic business plans, go-to-market strategies and guidelines on optimize assortment, pricing, distribution, merchandising, and promotional tactics.
  • Develop and distribute communication and tools to the sales team enabling best in class strategies for external selling of priorities and plans.
  • Lead the design and procurement of required trade marketing tools based on creative direction, board marketing submissions, and providing sales activation support from sell-in through execution to post ROI reviews.
    • This includes POS development and creation, sell sheets, and external sales presentations.
    • Improve organizational efficiency--conduct post game analysis on trade marketing initiatives ensuring brand profitability in each sales channel.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to develop and communicate insight-driven strategies and plans for optimal product assortment, distribution, merchandising, pricing, and promotions.
    • Partner with Sales leaders in managing Merchandising Calendars for core wines and cider.
    • Provide insights and recommendations on wholesale regular price and price promotion (LTO) ensuring profitability is maximized.
  • Create and lead the communication of compelling internal and external sales materials and tools for core accountabilities.
    • Communicate Sales Priorities ensuring flawless execution
    • Develop and execute key account presentations on new brand launches, key trade marketing and display activity (LDB, Savy Shopper).
    • Attend and present at key customer meetings focusing on B2B customers and go-to-market plans.
  • Offer leadership to the IBP process and cross functional partners ensuring business targets are delivered, which includes monitoring results and pacing against business targets, analyzing category and market performance, plus identifying growth opportunities while mitigating business risks.
    • Responsible for Core West Demantra Marketing forecast for all Core brands and attends RDMR meetings to represent forecast.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Commerce with specialization in Marketing preferred
  • Minimum 2 years Trade or Brand Marketing experience combined with account sales experience is preferred
  • Strong capabilities across: strategic planning, project management, analytics and insights, sales management, communication and managing multiple priorities
  • Strong Leadership and a drive for delivering results and ability to work under tight timelines
  • Be proactive, takecharge, action-oriented approach; Sell-starter and effficiently manage workload and priorities
  • Proficient across Microsoft platform: Powerpoint, Excel and Word
  • Ability to learn internal Marketing/Sales database (Cognos, Tableau)
  • Some evening and weekend work related to wine industry functions
  • Travel within Western Canada and to Corporate Head Office
