This position is responsible for driving the sales and marketing objectives of Andrew Peller Limited's (APL) Direct to Licensee Channel in the assigned territory with the primary focus of building APL brands by securing new accounts and maximize listings in high-volume and opportunity accounts.  The future incumbent will have exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to communicate with all colleagues and customers.

 The successful candidate will be accountable for:

Responsible for the management of the on-premises sales and marketing initiatives, building brands and securing accounts by:

  • Implementing and executing regional sales plans and delivering targeted objectives for brand distribution
  • Maximizing sales revenue and volume in territory by securing new accounts, new listings and features
  • Implementing marketing and promotional programs to build brand awareness
  • Manage territory within approved expense budget
  • Preparation of daily/weekly/monthly summaries/projects and submitting to Sales Supervisor
  • Maintain up-to-date account and expense information
  • Maintain productive business relationships with all key licensee and industry personnel
  • Develop new business opportunities through sound public relation activities and superior customer service, including:
  • Conducting presentations to various interest groups (staff training, imparting wine knowledge, etc.)
  • Ensuring prompt and proper handling of all customer concerns and complaints
  • Maintaining exemplary professional conduct and accepted social and industry practices when representing the interests of APL
  • Anticipate customer needs and acting promptly
  • Monitor competitor activities, market developments, market/product opportunities and communicate this information to sales team
  • Active participation in departmental meetings; ensuring relevant information is disseminated and acted upon
  • Prompt communication of relevant sales and competitive information to Sales Supervisor
  • Proactively communicate sales policies to customers
  • Ensure equipment, sales aids, miscellaneous allowances and service stock are being used in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain a clean driving record

 The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

  • University /College diploma or equivalent experience
  • Wine education (up to WSET Level III) preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with a range of personalities
  • Exemplary leadership and customer service; communication, product knowledge, problem solving, attention to detail
  • Ability to set and stick to a sales plan, with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in circumstances
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications such as Word, Outlook, Explorer and Excel
  • Maintenance of privileged and confidential information relating to company sales
  • Flexible outside regular business hours
