We are seeking a Cellar Person to join our Winemaking and Cellars team at the lovely, Trius Winery! Our future incumbent will have an exceptional technical aptitude.

 We are looking for a teammate with:

  • Completion of Secondary School (Gr. 12)
  • Degree or Certificate in Winemaking an asset
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a winery environment
  • Forklift License an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent written & oral command of English language required.
  • Conscientious team player, showing initiative and professionalism and effectively communicating well with others.
  • Highly organized, time management, prioritizing daily jobs, decision making, multi-tasking.

 This teammate will....

  • Operate equipment to crush and ferment the grapes
  • Operate equipment to clarify and filter wine
  • Make material additions to wine blends and transfers during fermentation
  • Clean and Sanitatize processing equipment -clean work area on a routine schedule and as needed.
  • Operate, use and perform detailed work of oak barrels as specified by winemaking/work ticket
  • Ensuring that wine is sent to Bottling in a timely manor
  • Operate multi-function processing control machinery to mix, blend, and ferment or process wine
  • Observe gauges and video monitors to verify specified processing conditions and adjust ingredient inputs, flow rates and temperature settings as specified on the work ticket
  • Follow the bulk receiving guidelines in a timely and efficient manor
  • Follow ABS procedures and policies and report any deviation immediately to the Winemakers
  • Complete inventory on materials and wine
  • Record and report any upset conditions to the Winemaker
  • Operate cellar equipment to maintain efficient operation and generate a Maintenance work order for repair when needed
  • Follow safe work procedures and practices and report all unsafe working conditions / hazards to the reporting Manager
  • Supervise a shift of Harvest Cellar workers during the harvest period (September December inclusive)
