 We are seeking an extraordinary, enthusiastic Facility/Grounds Maintenance teammate to join our Tinhorn Creek Vineyards team.  Tinhorn Creek Vineyards in Oliver, BC is one of the Okanagan's most innovative and environmentally sustainable estate wineries with an extensive health and safety program. We are a 450-ton winery in the heart of the South Okanagan wine region, with vineyards on both the Golden Mile Bench and the Black Sage Bench. We produce roughly 50:50 white and red, and our two unique vineyard sites allow us to grow both Bordeaux and Burgundy varietals in addition to a dash of Syrah and Gewurztraminer.  We employ a basic and natural wine making approach and have a small but skilled team you would enjoy working with.

Reporting into the Viticulturist/Vineyard Manager, we are recruiting for Facility/Grounds Maintenance teammate, responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to grounds maintenance. 

We are looking for teammates with:

  • Highschool Diploma required; Post-secondary education in Engineering or Property Management an asset, or Millwright and/or Electrical tickets are a bonus.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a general maintenance position.
  • Strong Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access)
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to multi-task; as well a "Can Do" attitude and enjoy working under pressure.

This teammate will be accountable for:

  • Minor facility repairs and maintenance; ground maintenance including maintaining natural/environmental areas, planting annuals, manage irrigation system, operate/maintain/repair grounds equipment.
  • Maintenance and grounds support for on-property guest houses.
  • Coordinate and expedite all emergency equipment repairs and coordination of on-site maintenance contractors.
  • Development and implementation of preventative maintenance measures; managing inventory; ordering supplies for departmental projects
  • Contributing towards development of Vineyard and hospitality team grounds/facility maintenance budgets.
  • Support Hospitality team with seasonal decorations, onsite event set-up coordination, rental suite repairs/maintenance, fish pond care, row-end rose maintenance.
  • Managing and the distribution of maintenance related invoices to appropriate Department Head.
  • Reporting any non-compliance to the Management team.
  • Supports departmental safety programs to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees and attends and actively participates in Joint Health & Safety meetings.
